Diseño Optimizado de Redes de Distribución de Agua Potable

Las utilidades obtenidas por las empresas prestadoras de servicio de agua potable se ven drásticamente afectadas por los costos del agua que se pierde por fugas en la red. Este trabajo pretende mostrar una metodología de diseño que permita optimizar el diseño de las redes de distribución de agua potable (RDAP) disminuyendo el agua no contabilizada que es generada por fugas. Para lograr esto, se utilizan como criterios de optimización combinatoria los costos de construcción y la pérdida de agua por fugas a lo largo de la vida útil de la red. Las fugas se calculan utilizando la presión que se tiene en cada nudo y no la presión media en la red como se plantea en trabajos anteriores. Lo anterior a fin de considerar un comportamiento más cercano a realidad dentro del proceso de diseño. La metodología está basada en el método de la Superficie Óptima de Gradiente Hidráulico (SOGH) y se proponen una serie de modificaciones que buscan determinar cuál es el nivel de energía apropiado que permita proveer un buen servicio al mismo tiempo que se reduce la cantidad de fugas.
