Diseño de redes de distribución incluyendo el concepto de resiliencia

La complejidad del diseño de redes de distribución está dada por la relación no lineal entre las variables involucradas, como el caudal, las pérdidas de energía, los diámetros de las tuberías y su costo. Esto se ha resuelto al considerarlo un problema de optimización combinatoria (Saldarriaga; 2005), a través del cual se obtiene un diseño de costo mínimo para el Caudal Máximo Horario en el periodo de diseño. Basado en el concepto de resiliencia (Todini, 2000), éste diseño óptimo representaría una red de baja confiabilidad hidráulica. Éste trabajo demuestra, que para una red real, el diseño de costo óptimo corresponde a una red de alta confiabilidad hidráulica cuando inicia su operación, que disminuye con el tiempo, debido al aumento de la demanda hasta alcanzar su nivel más bajo al cumplir su periodo de diseño. Por esto, los operadores deben evaluar periódicamente la resiliencia de la red, buscando mantener una confiabilidad adecuada.
